Pain when you first put weight on your foot in the morning? Can’t walk more than 10 minutes before your feet are in agony? Can’t run anymore because it hurts your feet? Hurts too much to wear your favorite shoes?
The Foot and Ankle contain 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments that have a big job of supporting the weight of your entire body for standing, walking, running and jumping.
Foot and ankle problems can be complex, which is why you want someone with a good knowledge base to help navigate and start to work on the solution to your pain. Beyond just stretching your ankles, there are many, many more exercises and manual techniques to help restore the mobility, strength and lost function(s) of your precious feet and ankles that have been locked up in artificial supports (shoes) and forced to function on flat, hard surfaces (concrete, hardwood floors, tile).
Our approach to Ankle and Foot Problems addresses the soft tissues, muscles and joints. In addition, we explore other parts of your body which may influence foot/ankle mechanics, such as pelvic alignment issues, hip weakness or hip flexibility issues.
We also fit for custom made PRI orthotics by Dr. Paul Coffin, a podiatrist in Iowa. Please check out his website (http://www.drpcoffin.com/orthotics/) for why his orthotics are so unique! If you would like to live an active life, free from ankle and foot pain, give us a call!
